Working in technology can mean long hours, high-pressure incidents, constant troubleshooting, tight deadlines, and the expectation that everything should just keep working. The people doing that work don’t always get the same attention as the systems they maintain.
The Layer Eight Mental Health collection exists to make a little more room for those conversations.
Depression. Anxiety. ADHD. Burnout. Stress. The things that can be easy to hide behind a terminal window, a ticket queue, or another “quick” production issue.
Mental health is part of the stack too.
Why Green?
Orange is part of Layer Eight’s identity, but this collection intentionally takes a different route.
Green is widely associated with mental health awareness, so designs in this collection use green as their primary accent instead of the usual Layer Eight orange.
It’s a small visual change with a bigger purpose: making mental health visible without turning it into a slogan or a corporate checkbox.
Giving Back
This collection is intended to do more than start conversations.
A portion of proceeds from Layer Eight Mental Health products will support Mental Health America, an organization focused on mental health promotion, prevention, early intervention, education, and access to resources.
We are currently working toward establishing a formal relationship with Mental Health America. Until that process is complete, any donations made by Layer Eight Supply Co. are independent contributions and should not be interpreted as an endorsement or official partnership.
Why Mental Health America?
Mental Health America’s emphasis on prevention, early intervention, education, and accessible resources aligns closely with what this collection is meant to represent.
The goal isn’t simply to put mental-health language on a shirt. It’s to use the collection to support organizations doing meaningful work while helping make these conversations a little more normal—especially in technical workplaces where they can be easy to avoid.
